It is with deep sadness that we report the death of the wife of the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League president Keith Moss.

Jean Moss died suddenly on Wednesday at Hexham in Northumberland where the couple were due to stop overnight on their way back from a short break in Scotland.

Jean, 85, has been a great friend of the Bradford League and her cheery smile and kind words will be missed by all who knew her.

She was a regular spectator at Pudsey St Lawrence where husband Keith was cricket chairman and then president. He held the latter role until earlier this year when his son Tony took over.

Jean, a trained secretary, used to help prepare teas both at St Lawrence and at Fulneck when Keith was a player.

League chairman David Young said: "Jean was a lovely, friendly lady who will be sorely missed. She attended many cricketing events with Keith over the years and always had a smile and a kind word.

"Our thoughts are with Keith, his son Tony, daughter-in-law Jenny and two grandchildren Tom and Lucy."

Jean was also well known at Headingley where she attended many cricket functions alongside Keith, particularly when he was chairman of Yorkshire from 1998-2002.

Most recently sehe accompanied Keith to the 364 annual dinner which this year marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of Sir Leonard Hutton.

Yorkshire CCC Board member, Robin Smith, who was club president during Keith’s time as chairman, paid tribute to Jean, saying: “She was a most warm and supportive person and particularly so during Keith’s chairmanship and it was always a delight and a pleasure to have her around. I will miss her very much.

She was often to be seen with Keith, whether at Pudsey St Lawrence or at Headingley, and she was a very popular person who will be missed by very many people.”
