Two players reach important career milestones during Saturday's opening day fixtures.

Woodlands all-rounder Grant Soames passed 5,000 first team runs while making 41 runs in his side's 61-run win over Hanging Heaton.

Spen Victoria's Rob Burton, who was the league's leading wicket taker in 2013, reached 600 wickets when he took 2-35 in his side's seven-run defeat by Bowling Old Lane.

Other players nearing significant milestones are Mat Garside of Spen Victoria, who needs 41 to reach 5,000 runs, John Carruthers who heeds eight wickets for 1,000 and Sarfraz Ahmed of Woodlands who needs five for 700.
