LEAGUE CREST TRIBUTE TO GREAT HORTON STALWART
Gulbar Ahmed
Gubar Ahmed who has lost his fight against cancer

Great Horton are mourning the death of former skipper and club official Gulbar Ahmed who died today after losing his eight-year fight against cancer.

Ahmed, 45, remained remarkably cheerful throughout his brave battle, and he followed closely the careers of his three sons who all play in the Bradford League, Raheel at Baildon while Irsalan and Daanyaal play at Lightcliffe.

He will be missed greatly by the Ewart Street club and around the league scene where he was well know.

League chief executive David Young said: "Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

"Gulbar loved his cricket and was always a cheery presence. He was a great fan of our live scores service and did a lot to help get it established at Great Horton.

"He will be greatly missed by all who knew him."
